For years there are two categories of motorcycle that hold the 70% of the market: naked and adventure sport. Lately, however, there is another rapidly growing category: the adventure bike, a natural evolution of the single-cylinder dual sport 80s. The Elefant of MV Agusta, current under development will fit into this line of motorcycles.
The name Elefant comes from one of Cagiva's most successful models, remained on the market for 14 years and produced in 6 different displacements, from 125cc to 900cc. Since 2010 the brand Cagiva has been owned by MV Agusta group, and will be used for a new adventure bike.
We tried to imagine what the new model could look like. We are started from the 798cc three-cylinder engine of the Turismo Veloce. The style is inspired by the rally bikes of 90s, years in which Cagiva won two Paris-Dakar with the rider Edi Orioli.
The main features are commune with the modern medium displacement adventure bikes: 18-21 inches wheels, essential line, riding position designed to be a good compromised between road and off-road use. The tank is divided in 3 parts in order to lower the center of gravity, streamline the side fairing and facilitates the movement of the pilot in standing riding.
